What is "The Entertainers"?

Good question. And you would think that we have a good answer. But we don't. That's because this page is still under construction and no one has yet filled in the blank spots. Maybe that person is YOU. Contact the webmaster (see below). He's open to suggestions.

Housekeeping—prop and costume inventory.

The Entertainers has a number of props and costumes stored for future use. An inventory of these items, with pictures and searchable by key words, can be viewed here: Inventory. Note that this a large file and may take some time to load. It is so large that the arcaz.net web site will not allow it to be uploaded, so the link takes you to a site owned by the webmaster where it has been uploaded.

This page is weird. What's up?

You may have noticed that this page has a few weird features—like a jittering Entertainers logo, links that change the pages instantly, right/left justified text, and strange yellow rectangles that reveal and hide text. Also, this page is designed to be as readable and as functional whether viewed on a widescreen monitor or a smartphone. That's possible because ...

Upcoming Events

As a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and in concert with the National State of Emergency declared by President Trump on Friday, March 13, all meetings at ARC have been suspended.

The events listed below were set before the suspension, and will NOT take place until the suspension is lifted.

Past Events

With the start of a new year and a nice new parking lot, it will be a great time to see a show at the ARC. The first show of 2020 presented by The Entertainers is "Frank and Friends" on January 26 from 4—5 PM. "Frank" is Frank Hummel, a longtime ARC resident. He is joined by his friends, Al McGarity and Bob Bergman. The event is BYOB. Light snacks will be available on tables for four. All you have to do is sit back and enjoy the music. There is no charge for this show.

At the event —

An evening of harmony and hilarity that you won’t want to miss is on tap when The Entertainers present the Alley Cats in concert at 7 PM on February 22. The doo-wop group’s tight four-part harmonies and hilarious antics have been featured in performances at venues all over the United States as well as many other parts of the world. They are billed as "serving up a perfect blend of of 1950s and 60s hits and hilarious comedy." The Alley Cats have performed at the White House, on network TV shows and as the opening act for Joan Rivers, Jerry Seinfeld, and Jay Leno. Tickets will go on sale starting February 8 from 7:00-11:00 AM and will cost $20. A sign-up sheet will be available at 6:30 AM and sales will begin at 7:00 AM, with those who signed up in advance at the head of the line. After February 8 tickets will be on sale every day (except Sundays) from 9:00-11:00 AM until tickets sell out. Tickets may be purchased using cash, check or credit card. There will be a 50¢ service charge per ticket when using a credit card.

Welcome to Sin City

Our mystery is presented by a dedicated group of your friends and neighbors who have spent many hours putting this event together. There is no "script" for the evening's performance. Our actors have been given the backgrounds for their characters, but they will be improvising their dialog and specific actions. You, the audience, will be given the chance to conduct your own cross examination of the various characters.

The Location.

Everything takes place in the fabulous Flynn Resort and Casino. The Entertainers have spared no expense in turning the ARC Main Hall and Extension into the elegant Grand Ballroom [Flynn Ballroom Seating Chart] of the largest and most extravagant facility on the strip. Although you will not be in the Flynn Casino, you will be able to peer into its entrance on the north side of the ballroom.

The Dinner.

While all the intrigue plays out over the course of the evening, show attendees will be served a three-course meal from Catering by Ed that will include salad, a lasagna entrée and dessert. It is a BYOB event, so you can bring your accompanying beverage of choice.

The Event.

Bobby Flynn, owner of the Fabulous Flynn Resort and Casino has extended his personal invitation to be his guests for an extravagant dinner. He has chosen his guests carefully. He may have motives that are not immediately apparent for each person on the guest list. Even though the Casino has been a great success, Flynn is deeply troubled by huge sums disappearing from his coffers, and he intends to find out why—no matter who may be hurt by his investigation.

The Suspects.

Flynn's guest list is a lineup of possible miscreants. But before the evening is over there will be a murder, and the crime will escalate from thievery to homicide. What kind of people could be suspected of such a dastardly deed? Well ...
